This past few weeks have seen at least two people in recent news that are just screaming "please punch me in the face!" to the world. Who really knows what drives these people? Are they just evil? Is it about money? Infamy? Maybe they want smarmy social media writers to comment about their antics so they win attention. Perhaps by clicking on articles about them we contribute to their rise in cultural fame and fall into their constructed trap. Perhaps by giving them attention, we give them power that they use to gain money and influence.
So let's go ahead and do just that!
Daryush Valizadeh
This saint right here, going by the alias Roosh V, is known for writing an article about legalizing rape. When people (shockingly) reacted with criticism and anger he back peddled and swore it was satirical. His other quotes on the subject like
"I often hear women do not report rapes right away because they are ashamed or humiliated to report that it ever happened. This is pure bullshit."
and such wisdom like
"A woman who claims to have been raped in her own house by a man she knew beforehand is a suspicious claim, since a man looking to rape someone would not pick a target who could identify him to the police."
have lead doubt to his claims about satire. Amazingly, when you have such a pitiful understanding of how sexual violence works and you write an article to capitalize on your ignorance it doesn't help you in the slightest to say you were kidding.
Other gems he's written are "5 Reasons to Date a Girl With an Eating Disorder," and "Don’t Work for a Female Boss." Let me guess, you're not sexist because "you have lots of friends who happen to be female."
He made headlines recently when his hate group; "Return of Kings" was planning to meet. An no, sadly, "Return of Kings" is not a Lord of the Rings fanclub. It's just a bunch of guys who want to get away with raping women. Also, no homosexual men allowed so you can add homophobia on top of unapologetic misogyny.
He was put back into headlines not long after that when he canceled the meetings, apparently concerned that the men he encourages to be ultra-masculine and strong won't be safe attending. One threat to his precious masculinity being a female boxing group meeting up right next door. Yet, he has no trouble threatening the safety of women in the area when he encourages young men to rape women.
Oh sorry, the correct term is "pick up" women. He's a pickup "artist" who wants to enforce strict and rigid gender roles that haven't been relevant since ancient Greece.
Dayrush Valizadeh, the poster boy for mommy issues. Freud would have a field day with this one.
Moving on...
Martin Shkreli
Voted "most punchable face" award in high school, Marty here helped to fund MSMB Capital Management and was made famous last year when he spiked the price of Daraprim up 5,556 percent. Effectively taking life-saving drugs away from pregnant women sufferers of AIDS with the world's smuggest smile. He then had a meltdown on twitter when called out on being a horrible person. This then led to him tweeting obnoxious things like all the luxuries he can afford showing he has the maturity of a six year old with a squirt gun.
He's tried to justify his actions by claiming that he's like Robin Hood and that all the money he's making in profit is going to diseases "no one cares about." He points to price gauging for Disney World and other examples as if comparing himself to other evil corporations was helping his image. You have to wonder who he thinks he's fooling- the media or himself?
He was back in headlines when he testified before Congress. He smirked and looked away when asked about the people he's effectively condemning to death. He plead the fifth like a schoolyard kids giving each other the silent treatment. He later said that they were all imbeciles and were only out for self interest. I wonder what kind of glass house he lives in and where he gets all those stones.
And then he was arrested with $4.625 million in unpaid taxes.
