Hate is such a strong word that I try to never use. I don't think it's an appropriate word in most cases, especially when referring it to yourself. However, here are 12 times where it is perfectly acceptable to hate yourself.
1. Never
2. Never
3. Never
4. Never
5. Never
6. Never
7. Never
8. Never
9. Never
10. Never
11. Never
12. Never
Surely by now you understand what I am saying.
It is never okay to hate yourself, and there will never be an acceptable excuse to.
None of us are perfect, nor will we ever be.
I think that this is a concept many people get twisted. I know I for one try so hard sometimes to seem like I have everything perfectly together, but if I consistently try to live by that then I will always fail myself.
We will continuously make mistakes throughout our lives. We have bad days. And I mean bad days where everyone in our path will be in jeopardy of facing our wrath. But it is crucial to understand that and we cannot be too hard on ourselves when mistakes do rise because we aren't perfect. We are only human.
Sometimes the mistakes that we make will be ones filled with stupidity. We will literally question why in the world we did what we did and said what we said. They will be mistakes that we could have easily avoided, but due to our human nature for some reason we chose otherwise.
However, 1 John 1:9 states:
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
That is so beautiful.
God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die for us. -John 3:16
All we need to do is confess our sins to Him, who loves us so much, and we will be forgiven, wiped clean. I serve an amazing Creator and Father.
When I think about that verse, which is the first verse that I ever memorized, I know that there is no mistake that he wouldn't forgive me of. He wants us to live a life complete in Him, and He knows that we will never be perfect.
But He loves us. Oh, how He loves us.
Christ loves you (and me) so much.
And in the wise words of Jordan Feliz,
"You are never, you are never, never too far gone."
You (insert name here) are never too far gone.
Seek Him today and know His goodness. You are forgiven and loved and should never feel the need to hate yourself.
