7 TV Shows Worth Binge Watching Over Winter Break

Now that the semester is over and we have a bunch of free time, we can do whatever we want. We can sleep, work, eat but nothing beats sitting down on your bed, opening up your laptop and binge-watching some your favorite shows. You might also find a new favorite, who knows?

Now sit back, relax and let me introduce you to some pretty binge-worthy shows.

1. "American Vandal"

Now this one I was very hesitant to watch at first. It seemed like any other dumb teenage movie. After watching one episode, I was hooked. This show is a mockumentary, meaning that it is filmed like a documentary but it’s just making fun of how they are filmed. It has a very interesting storyline as well!

A bunch of dicks was drawn on teacher’s cars and no one seems to be coming forward about it. All signs point to the class clown, Dylan, but he swears on his life that it wasn’t him. The man behind the camera, high school classmate Peter, goes on a search to find answers but slowly starts to uncover something more.

There’s only one season but it leaves you wanting more!

2. "The Good Place"

At first, I thought this would have been a weird, boring show. I was totally wrong. I was sucked in after a couple of episodes. The suspense of whether or not Eleanor will get caught of being sent to the wrong place, the way others are helping here and all the weird situations that keep happening. The last couple of episodes are just crazy. Everything unveils and the rest is history. I’m just waiting for the second season!

3. "Parks and Rec"

You can’t go wrong with this show! You will laugh, you will cry and you will grow with the characters. At first, there is a small storyline but when you go through all 7 seasons you will go back and watch it all over again. Remember to treat yo’ self.

4. "Daredevil"

Let’s throw in some superhero action! I love his storyline and his origin story. There is love and action. There is hope and danger. Daredevil is a human with an urge for justice. I honestly love him so much and can’t get enough! His story is also an introduction to even more superhero shows, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. (Also great shows to binge watch!)

5. "Atypical"

"Atypical" is a show about Sam, an 18-year-old on the autism spectrum. He tries to get through life on his own but sees how different everything is. He wants to be his own person and most importantly, have a girlfriend. While Sam is figuring things out on his own, his sister and mom have problems of their own. Sam's mom is caught between her normal life with her family or being in love with a younger guy. His sister wants to be the best in track but has to put her life aside so she can help Sam. All in all, it's a show about family and tribulations.

6. "The Keepers"

This is a documentary about a nun vanishing into thin air. She was a teacher at an all-girls Catholic high school. From the outside, it was a very prestigious school filled with opportunities. On the inside, it was hell for many people. They go through the lives that were involved in a scandal that included several students, priest, cops, and families. Which in the end lead to Sister Cathy's death. This one season series will keep you at the edge of your seat as more information is revealed in each episode.

7. "The OA"

This show was totally different than what I thought it was going to be! Prairie has been missing for seven years and is found by her family after a video surfaced on the internet of her jumping off a bridge. They find her in a hospital but are surprised because she could see. She has been blind since birth and now can see perfectly fine! As the series unfolds we learn that she was kidnapped by a man who is obsessed with death and those who have been in close encounters with death. He has kidnapped several of those individuals and learned that after their accidents they now have special abilities and want to try and recreate that. Prairie confined to several students and a teacher from the local high school about her story. They soon learn more and try to plan on how to save the others.

There are so many more TV shows and movies on Netflix, Hulu plus so many more streaming sites! You might find a new favorite or fall in love with an old show. Don’t go outside into the cold weather where the wind hurts your face. Enjoy the warmth of your home, sip on some hot chocolate and relax before the next semester starts.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
