Winter break is the perfect time for rest and relaxation. If you need a new series to watch, then look no further than these great shows that will not disappoint (in no particular order)!

1. "Gilmore Girls"

"Gilmore Girls" is so unique. It follows the lives of a mother and daughter duo who are extremely close in a small town in Connecticut where everybody knows everybody. Add in some wealthy grandparents who live a completely different lifestyle than they do and you have a pretty interesting show on your hands.

2. "Shameless"

"Shameless" is completely different than any other show. It's raunchy, in-your-face, and heartbreaking at times. You'll cry, laugh, and probably want to scream at times but the plot is always interesting. This is one of those shows where you can always expect the unexpected. You should be warned though, it is definitely raunchy and it is something you will probably want to watch alone. There is a reason it airs on Showtime after all.

3. "One Tree Hill"

Although it has tragically been removed from Netflix, if you can get your hands on the DVDs, it would be totally worth it just to watch this great show. It's like a classic high school show but with much more drama and crazy plot twists. The combination of basketball, love, family, tragedy, and friendship is a great one that is executed so well in this show.

4. "Gossip Girl"

"Gossip Girl" has iconic characters in the famous area of the Upper East Side in New York City. The drama-filled show can get a bit unrealistic at times but is definitely worth watching. The ending will surprise you too.

5. "Friends"

"Friends" is a timeless classic and a one-of-a-kind show that still entices today's audience. The 90s nostalgia is amazing but the issues these friends deal with are still real things we all face in our lives. It is funny, witty, and so relatable. This is the kind of show you will still laugh at even if you have seen the episode twenty times. The fact that it is on Netflix is awesome and everyone should watch it because every season is just as good, if not better, than the last.

6. "Will & Grace"

"Will and Grace" is extremely underrated. If you can find the DVDs, the reruns on TV, or on demand (Cox put all the seasons on demand for free), you should watch it. It can be a little outrageous at times but you will end up loving the characters and watching them work through their issues. It will make you laugh and maybe even cry but this revolutionary comedy is worth giving a shot.

7. "The Office"

The hype about this show is very much worth it. Getting into it takes a little bit of time but if you stick with it, you will grow to love it. It is so unbelievably outrageous and odd but you will end up loving the characters.

8. "Pretty Little Liars"

"Pretty Little Liars" is another show that can be totally outrageous and unrealistic but it is addicting and very entertaining. You have to stick with it though because there are so many mysteries that you'll just have to know the answer to. The main characters are also fantastic.

9. "The Golden Girls"

"The Golden Girls" is so funny and entertaining. I watched this many years ago but I still remember how funny it was. It shows a different age demographic but is still very relatable and funny.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
