9 Big Moods Everyone In A Big Family Knows All Too Well
Amira Totah

When you grow up in a big family it changes the way you look at things. It shapes you into the person you are and helps you decide if you want your own big family one day. While every family has their bad days, being a part of something big is nice (you can always find someone who isn't mad at you.) Being in a big family has also taught you that not everything is always sunshine and roses.

Even though your family is bound to get on your nerves at times, in the end, you can always count on them to be there for you.

You always have somebody to hang out with.

If you're bored, no problem! Just call up any one of your siblings and it's guaranteed at least one of them is willing to hang out with you.

Calling "dibs" on the bathroom.

Every one of you has been there before. Picture this: you call dibs on the bathroom but still end up racing each other there because they have the nerve to steal it from you!

Calling "shotgun" on car rides.

Similar to calling dibs on the bathroom, calling shotgun is very serious too. Nobody ever wanted to sit in the backseat with each other but the majority of the time, the oldest got seniority over the shotgun rule.. *rolls eyes*

"You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us."

Being in a big family is basically having your own mafia at all times. Don't mess with one of us unless you want a visit from the whole house.

Coming home to find out someone ate your leftovers.

It doesn't matter if you write your name in bold letters on the box, someone will eat your food AND DENY IT. They are all quick to point fingers but you always have your suspicions.

Experiences to learn and teach.

Being in a big family means the age gaps can range so it's easy to find yourself giving advice to younger siblings, while also getting advice from the ones older than you! This is also a fun way of getting closer. You can tell embarrassing, funny stories and find out things about your brothers and sisters you've never heard before!

It makes you tough.

Nothing compares to when you and your family roast each other. Everyone feels comfortable enough to be brutally honest and sometimes it hurts, but you know it comes from a place of love, (for the most part).

Your differences aren't all that different.

Each individual has their own personality, but you always see a little bit of yourself or another family member in each other. You agree and disagree on some things, but at the end of the day, you agree to disagree.

Never ending love, support and guidance.

One of the best things is knowing you have a huge support system. You can always count on your family for anything. They won't judge you (too much) and are always guiding you in the right direction. Tough love is real but just remember, they do it because they love you.

Cherish the moments you have with your family whether it be big or small especially around this holiday season!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
