Your parents are your friends: You know how some people say that they don’t like living under the same roof as their parents? Yeah, you have no idea what they’re talking about. As a homebody, you love spending time with your parents…in fact, you consider them friends. You love talking with them, doing things with them, and even just watching television with them. Bottom line: they're the best.
Your FOMO experience is different: One fact of life is that FOMO is real. All humans have suffered from the “Fear of Missing Out” syndrome at least once in their life. However, while most people fear that they are missing out on an amazing college rager, you are afraid you’re missing out on good food and good TV at home…different strokes for different folks!
Life after college doesn’t scare you…as much: These days, many people move home after college for at least a small period of time. While some people dread moving back home, you welcome the idea of living year-round with your parents again. Even though you may still have your fears about entering the real world, you don’t have to worry about your temporary living arrangements.
You have turned down plans to stay home: All homebodies are guilty of one thing: at one time or another, we have all canceled plans in favor of staying home #NoShame.
People give you a hard time: Homebodies get a bad rap. The word homebody can sometimes be synonymous with “boring.” Sometimes, your friends tell you that you “need to live a little” or “need to get out.” *Insert eyeroll here* If spending time in the comfort of my own home with my loved ones is wrong then I don’t want to be right!
You enjoy life’s simple pleasures: Whether taking a walk on a beautiful day, laughing with friends, or sleeping in, homebodies can appreciate the simple pleasures in life. This is not to say that we don’t like to take risks and have fun, it simply means we can appreciate both excitement and simplicity.
