The holidays are here! Good food, Christmas music, Christmas lights, the start of a new year and of course spending time with family members you only see maybe once a year, what could be better? Don't you love when these extended family members ask you questions like "How's school? What do you plan on doing with your degree? What are your plans for the future? Are you still not in a relationship?" and then proceed to compare you to other people your age that seem to have it all together?

And to think that that's just one of the times that you feel like you have no hold on your life and no idea what you're doing or maybe you have an idea, but nothing seems to be working out the way you planned. Maybe you thought you'd be married at 22 or be finished with your undergrad and have an amazing job the second you graduated college. Maybe you're a senior in high school and have no idea what you want to do after high school graduation or where you're going to college. There's so much pressure on us by our family, friends and especially society to rush our timeline and have our lives figured out. When in reality, we kind of never have to have our whole lives figured out by a certain point.

Something can happen in your life at 50 that happened in someone else's life at 18. Vera Wang didn't enter the fashion industry until age 40, Julia Child didn't write her first cookbook until 50, Abraham and Sarah didn't have a child until Sarah was 90 years old. Everything happens at the right time, you have to trust the timing of your life. Nobody has it all together and nobody is perfect no matter how much it may seem. Your life will work out, maybe not the way you had planned it, but it will work out. Trust God, trust the universe, trust whoever you trust and have faith that your life has a plan.

All of this to say, You can make it through this crazy holiday season with family members asking you endless questions. Just remember, it's your life, not theirs and there is always more pie to drown your sorrows in.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
