Donald Trump, an interesting nominee for the 2016 presidential election. Despite his arrogance and lack of professionalism, he’s at a nearly 20-point lead ahead of the other 17 Republican nominees. Polls indicate that Trump has support from 30 percent of the Republican Party. This actually puts him ahead of Jeb Bush.
Trump may not be the best candidate for president, but he’s definitely a character that I think all nominees should admire.
For one, he does not tip toe around Americans' feelings by avoiding being politically correct. I understand that people are easily offended, but having to watch every word that comes out of one’s mouth, for the sake of being offensive, is a bit absurd.
In my opinion, it’s almost oppressing, exactly what America tried to avoid when creating the First Amendment.
In a way, we’re becoming so modern that we’re allowing the foundation of what our country originally stands for, freedom, to be demolished.
By not fearing the feedback of his viewers, he’s thinking for himself, and not being influenced by society, which I think should be a quality in any strong leader.
In addition to his vulgarity, Trump is aggressive. By aggressive, I mean he’s willing to fight for his country, and do anything it takes to protect it. America’s current severe threats include dominant forces such as Russia, ISIS and North Korea. In order to take on these threats or defend ourselves from them, we need a influential leader that is not afraid to take action.
Overall, Donald Trump definitely has his flaws. He’s unique in every way possible and marches to the beat of his own drum. I’m not saying he’s going to have the cure for cancer, I’m just saying he has strong characteristics every leader should admire. He has a strong voice and takes initiative, all traits that a leader should have.
