It's finally October! It's that time of year where everything and anything spooky is thrown our way. (Haunted houses! New horror movies! The reopening of the FAFSA application!)

If you're like me though, spooky things are a way of life all year-round. You live, breath and sleep scary things, and if you're exactly like me, paranormal and true crime shows have a special place in your heart. As someone who loves those types of show, you probably know these things to be true.

1. Your favorite channel is the Investigative Discovery Channel and the Syfy Channel.

Or sometimes, y'know, the Travel Channel. Because nothing says vacation like ghost-hunting.

2. You have at least one creepy podcast you always listen to.

My Favorite Murder and a cup of tea on a dark, rainy day? Yes, please!

3. Chances are, you're subscribed to a YouTube show that talks about true-crime, the supernatural...or both!

Personal favorite? Buzzfeed Unsolved. You're welcome.

4. Your true-crime and paranormal reading list is long and diverse!

Serial killers, witches, and ghosts-- oh my!

5. And when you see that a scary movie was "based on true events"... be still, your heart!

....Even if it does freak you out just a little bit more than the usual horror stuff does.

6. You're always getting recommendations for scary things to read/watch/listen to.

Sure, there's a good chance that you either already read/watched/listened to the recommendations, but it's the thought that counts!

7. You don't consider yourself morbid. Just curious.

Do you get weird looks for talking about ghosts? Sure, but it's either that or that true crime podcast you heard last week, so...

8. You've fallen asleep during scary movies/documentaries.

It's not your fault that almost every person who narrates true crime or supernatural shows have soothing voices and that the best time to watch/listen to them is at night!

9. You can get lost down the Wikipedia rabbit hole when it comes to creepy events/urban legends.

Wikipedia: come for the information relevant and important to you in that moment; stay for all the weird crap you find by clicking on random links.

10. You either love or hate ghost-hunting shows (but you have to admit they're fun to watch anyway)

I'm looking specifically at you, Ghost Adventures.

11. Your Halloween costumes are either very elaborate and scary...or almost too simple.

Either way, you're sure to have a good time scaring people with what you know.

12. Just because you like scary things doesn't mean that you like being scared.

Part of the appeal with podcasts, movies, and books is that you're safe from the scary thing. You're experiencing it secondhand, and it's not as scary. The minute it becomes a firsthand experience, all bets are off. Haunted houses? It's a no from me, dawg.

13. No matter what, you're at your happiest when you're delving into the creepiest.

If you need me, I'll be here, watching Paranormal Witness on loop.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
