A Thank You to my Friends
Ryan Feyre

Honestly, with two and a half weeks left of summer vacation, it has been difficult to pinpoint exactly what I will miss about Agawam. I thought my longing to relive high school would hit me immediately after the last day, or after graduation, or even when I was on vacation in July. It never did. However, just recently, I thought to myself, I'm really going to miss the moments I shared with my friends. Despite the fact that we fought and disagreed with each other continuously, I'll still miss them. So, as a result, I want to thank each of them personally.

My friends and I on a hike

Caleb: I know that we have disagreed with each other on certain subjects recently, but that still doesn't mean I didn't appreciate the times we did have together early on in our high school careers. I always had fun when we had sleepovers, went to volleyball games, or just hung out. My favorite moments were when we used to watch football together on Sundays. I hope that you continue to play volleyball in college, because you are very good at it. Finally, I hope that you end up doing what you love in life, because I know you'll be successful.

Ian: Although I just recently met you Senior year, I still want to acknowledge the good times we had. From the hikes in Robinson Park, to going out to eat, or just hanging out, it was a pleasure just getting to know you. I know that you want to major in something involving computers and technology. Keep chasing that dream man, because you only get one shot to do what you want to do in life. I hope to see you at the beach one more time this year before we leave.

The school that my friends and I went to

Nick B: Continue to be your funny charismatic self. You were one of the few people who could make me laugh non stop with your raunchy comments. It was great to know someone that was never down or never angry at anything. You could probably take a joke better than anyone else in the group. Just remember, keep chasing whatever dream you may have in life, and I hope that you end up being happy with how you live.

Cam: You were someone that always had my back in any situation, and I have to thank you for that. I always enjoyed the fact that you could turn any sad situation into a happy one with your happy go lucky personality. Continue to be like that. I also always respected how much of a hard worker you were. With your work ethic, I know that you will be successful in your future endeavors. Thank you for being a good friend, and do what you love.

One of my favorite places to go with my friends

Jordan: You were probably the reason why I survived Spanish class. I will always cherish the moments we had in that class as well as outside of school. You were one of those people who cared greatly about your opinion which I respect. I always enjoyed the fact that you were funny even when you were not trying to be. You definitely have a talent of being creative, and with that I hope it takes you far in life.

Nick: We've been friends since first grade. I've probably hung out with you more than anyone else. It has been a pleasure basically growing up with you. Your puns will be missed even though many us couldn't stand them at points. I will always remember the incredible and fun moments we've had, and I really hope you enjoy your time at LaSell. I also want to thank you for putting up with my continuous instances of being weird. I hope that you live the life you want to live in the future.

Matt: I've probably known you the second longest. I think we've been through everything together. I will definitely miss the constant debates we had on movies, sports, or whatever else. Thank you for helping me and giving me advice about how I can improve on my writing. You have a skill to write that most people would not have ten years older than you. You've achieved so much in life, and I hope that continues for you. Thank you for being my best friend.

Lastly, thank you guys for making high school doable for me. You guys gave me a reason to go to school everyday. I'm excited to see where you guys end up in life, but wherever that may be, I will always remember you. It's been a fun ride, but its only the beginning for us, so take advantage of that.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
