Ready to hit the mall for summer shopping? These ten items are bound to prepare you for the best summer ever.

1. Hair scarf

Why not buy one to match every single outfit? These ribbons are the perfect way to spice up an outfit or add some personality to a look. Once you buy one, you're bound to collect a few!

2. Fun glasses

Whether it be on Amazon, from Forever 21, or even 5Below, pick up a pair of fun sunnies and throw them in your beach bag. Sunglasses are essential for those hot summer days and with the latest frames and styles, you're bound to find a few pairs you like!

3. Telephone cord hair ties

Yes. Telephone cord hair ties are a MUST. They're waterproof, colorful, and very stretchy. For my friends who love scrunchies but can't wear them in the ocean, these will be perfectly comfortable for your hair.

4. Reusable water bottle

SAVE THE EARTH. Prevent more trash from piling on the beach and make an effort to bring a reusable water bottle with you. Super important to stay hydrated under the sun, too!

5. Fanny pack

https://www.amazon.com/Kayhoma-Stripe-Festival-Vin...

A perfect way to consolidate space for your money, phone, sunglasses, and a small sunscreen! A fanny pack is especially great for people who don't want to bring a big beach bag to the beach.

6. Kimonos

https://www.pacsun.com/lira/yasmine-cover-up-kimon...

Even better than a cover-up: a kimono. Super comfy, and lots of different patterns and colors are available. Kimonos are the perfect overlay for a bathing suit if you're interested in leaving the beach for dinner on the boardwalk, or even for a leisurely walk.

7. Waterproof speaker

https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-WONDERBOOM-Wa...

Not a regular speaker, a waterproof speaker. There is nothing worse than sitting far away from the water JUST so your speaker doesn't get splashed. Save your worries, and get a waterproof speaker so you can jam all you want, wherever you want.

8. Overalls

Not a want but a need. Overalls are back! Like a kimono, another cute overlay for a bathing suit.

9. Beach blanket

Better than a towel, and prettier, too! The perfect spot for some pictures, and a big enough space for tanning and enjoying the sunshine.

10. A bathing suit that makes YOU happy

Forget what the media says is trending. Your body is your body! Wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy so you can enjoy your experience. Love your body and how it allows you to enjoy the sunshine!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
