We all hear about millennials traveling all the time and while traveling with your friends is thrilling, why doesn’t anyone discuss the importance of traveling solo? As someone who travels solo for the most part, it’s an empowering experience to go through, especially as a young woman.

Traveling alone gives you the opportunity to really connect with yourself and learn more about yourself. Honestly, you will love yourself after the experience.

Now I know it sounds daunting at first, but it doesn’t have to be a huge leap all at once (but I do highly suggest it). It could start off as small as going away for a weekend on your own to a city only a couple hours away, or you could fly across the world.

When you travel solo, you’re free to roam wherever you like. You’re not tied down by friends or other people who want to eat at a certain place or see certain things. You can literally do whatever you want.

Not feeling like going out that night? Stay in.

Want to have a picnic in a park in Europe? Do it.

It teaches you how to rely on yourself and push you outside of your comfort zone. Think you’re an introvert? Traveling alone will help you talk to locals and ask strangers to take your photo in front of that flower arch that caught your eye.

The more times you have to interact with the locals in the area, the more confident you will be when you speak to them and others once you return. You will feel like you can integrate with the new culture you’re experiencing and appreciate its authentic quality.

At some point in your trip, you will have a moment where you take a deep breath and can’t help but smile because you did it. You were able to leave the place you call home and just be with yourself for a while.

You have control over your life and you can be the source of your own happiness. So get out there and find your bliss.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
