Yes, I know, ambitious. Traveling 950 miles in just over a week was extremely tiring; however, every moment was worth the efforts! First, my brother and I flew from New York City to Salt Lake City to meet up with our travel buddies. Next, we got right on the road and drove five hours north to Jackson Hole, which is adjacent to Grand Tetons National Park. As I caught the first glimpse of the Teton range, the grandeur and majesty entranced my entire existence. I know, dramatic, you're thinking, but it's true - and, it didn't stop there.
After spending a day and a half hiking and stopping at lookout points, we woke up at 5a.m. to see the sunrise and head to Yellowstone National Park. All five of us were jittery as we entered America's first national park, anxious to step out to see the thermal pools bubbling and steaming out of vividly colored springs. As we continued further throughout the park, I was baffled by the thermal activity, rock formation, and abundance of wildlife displayed in the sublime before my eyes. After a full seventeen-hour-long day of photographing, hiking, and driving, we ended our day at the Grand Prismatic for sunset around 10:45p.m. We later proceeded to drive to the small town of Butte, Montana.
Lastly, we made our way to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. This park was especially captivating because of the snow=capped mountains and the glaciers that reside there. Again, the water was aquamarine as if we were in the Caribbean, but it certainly was not the temperature of Caribbean waters! I enticed the entire group to do what I call, the “Glacial Facial," which involved splashing the ice-cold glacier water on our faces for several minutes. It's extremely refreshing and will leave you revitalized and energized!
