It's officially Spring Break season (though the weather in some parts of the US would say differently). No matter what your travel plans are - snow or sun - you'll need some essentials to get you through the hectic travel time with ease.

1. Pre-plan your outfits.

It'll be easy to find what you want to wear when you get to your destination and keep you from overpacking.

2. Organize everything in your bag.

So you can find it all later.

3. Add up the extra fares.

It's a good idea to check what you'll be charged for in addition to the ticket. Then, you can plan whether or not to take an extra bag, pack your own snacks, etc.

4. Get there early.

It makes all the difference to get there early so you can check-in and board relaxed and not rushed.

5. Bring some essentials in your carry-on.

You never know what's going to happen with your checked suitcase, so you'll feel a lot better if you've got your essentials in your carry-on - like some extra clothes, face wash, deodorant, etc. So, if something does happen with your carry-on, you won't be roaming around sunny Florida with the scarf and sneakers you were wearing in snowy New York.

6. Separate out your money.

You don't want to keep all your money in one place when you're going on vacation. It's like a pickpocket's dream. Instead, keep it dispersed so you always have a bit of cash on you.

7. Call your bank.

When you're traveling, don't forget to call your bank to tell them you'll be traveling so that they don't put a hold on your card, which can be really annoying when you're on vacation.

8. Carry a basic first-aid kit.

It seems like something your mom would do when you were a kid, but when traveling, it's super helpful to have all your medical necessities with you, in one place, just in case.

9. Don't be ashamed to buy a map or ask around.

No one LOVES being a tourist, but being a tourist has its perks! Don't be ashamed to buy a map or go to the local tourist office to figure out where you want to go.

10. Leave some free time in your itinerary.

You'll want to plan the things you want to do, but you'll also want to leave some free time for some spontaneity. You'll never know what you might find.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
