"Let the adventure begin," one of my absolute favorite quotes I live by.
Happy post-grad. So you have recently graduated (or just finished an important job term, task, whatever) What's the next step? The most commonly asked question of all. You've invested all this time, energy, and money to receive a fancy parchment piece of paper and you're now let fully free like a little bird into the wild. Or you just landed back home after a crazy adventurous five to eight-month ride from across the other side of the globe (like I said, whichever). Lots are happening and changing before your eyes. What's the next step? Get that full-time 9-to-5 40 hour week job suited or related to the field you studied and worked hard in or keep working full-time, save up, and then set off and explore the world a month, three months, or a year down the road? There's no definite right or wrong answer to this. Now let me ask you something else:
Have you ever experienced working that endless 9-to-5 full-time job and sometimes feel that life is so incredibly mundane at times? Does your heart seek out to certain places in the world? Is it across the country? The other side of the planet? Or simply across the street? When you get to that specific destination, do you sometimes wish to shift to another place in an instant, a heartbeat? Welcome to life's vicious cycle, my friend.
In one of my past articles, I wrote about cherishing your hometown and all the places you have lived, stayed, or been to whether it was for a day, week, school/work purposes, temporary, you name it. Something that I carry with myself, and highly value as an individual, is that each place you stay or go to, a big part of yourself is carried throughout the days. They can either make or break you, or better yet, lift an unimaginable spark within you that you never thought possible.
Travel helps the weak, the fortunate, and the lonely damaged souls of the world. Whether it is for leisure or simply soul-searching, travel makes the soul fonder. Whether you have just graduated, finished an important term/task, or just needing to find your way, remember to keep the light ahead of you (regardless of life's vicious cycles).
"You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever" -Psalm 16:11
