How To Travel Through Italia In Just 2 Weeks, But Not Feel Rushed
Julia Smith

This Summer, I was very fortunate to be able to go on an unforgettable trip to Italy. This year marks the third time I have been to this historic country, but this trip was unlike the others. I was also able to fit eight cities in two weeks and had the trip of a lifetime.

Destination # 1: Rome

We arrived in Rome Italy heavily jet lagged. To overcome a restless night, the key is to stay up till your normal bedtime on Italy's time. Luckily, Rome is filled with many sights to see, stores to shop, and food to indulge in. With only two weeks to see all of Italy, We only spent three days in Rome and visited all the sights in one day!

Tip: The best way to see all of Rome is doing a bus tour where you are allowed to go on and off every location, spend time admiring the sights, and go back on your way to another.

In less than five hours, I was able to ....
Tour the Colosseum
Made a wish in the Trevi Fountain
Admired the Spanish Steps
and visit some of Rome's historic ruins

with doing all of these sights in one day, we had more time to admire the inner streets of Rome and fit in some much needed shopping.

The Secret of Rome

Dinner in front of The Colosseum

From my own discovery, my number one recommendation while visiting Rome, is having dinner in front of the Colosseum and seeing the light show in the Colosseum during after hours.

My Recommendation: If you want the best food in Rome, eat at Gran Caffe Martini e Rossi for the best experience and service and not many know about the light show in the Colosseum after hours so have the whole colosseum to yourself and watch the historic arena come to life for just one night.

Destination #2 : Vatican City

St Peter's Basilica

Whether you are a devoted Catholic or interested in historic art and sculptures, the Vatican City is filled with the most breathtaking pieces and monuments enriched with fascinating stories behind every detailed. The Vatican City is home to the most art pieces in the world and pieces that can never be recreated.

Tip: Although there are many tours offered within the city, the Vatican City Is heavily filled with tourists and can be very easy to get lost from your tour guide (trust me it happened to me). I found it more enjoyable to go at my own pace and admire each piece of art on my own time rather than be worried if I adventured to far from my tour guide.
In one day
- I toured the Sisteen Chapel
- Payed respect to all the popes of the Catholic Church in the St. Peter's Basilica
- And was blessed by the pope at the public benediction

A Thousand Steps To Heaven

Top Of The Duomo

Not many know that one can climb all the way to the tip of the Duomo of St. Peter's Basilica. Just a discloser, someone who is afraid of enclosed spaces, lack of air, or heights should probably not do this expedition to the tip, but the journey is worth it. after climbing exactly 551 steps to the top, on can not only view and a 360-degree view of the Vatican City but of Rome and beyond! Don't bother hitting the gym if you plan on completing this journey, your Apple Watch will complete your exercise ring in the first twenty steps to the top!

Destination #3 : Sorrento

This next voyage was a different scene from the city of Rome and was heavily influence from Spanish architecture and the finest tropical views. In two days I was able to try the finest cuisine and travel Capri, Positano, and Mermaid Islands all in one day! How did I do it?

Capri, Calamari, Coffee, Mamma Mia!

Amalfi Coast Vibes

This day is probably one of my favorite days on the whole trip! Two weeks seems like a long time in Italy but with only three days in Sorrento, it seems impossible to even adventure to another island, But Mamma Mia Boat Excursions made all of my dreams come true!

I have NEVER experienced such great service and recommend this service to anyone that wants the best view of the coast. The day started off with a wonderful car service to the arena and after a wonderful day so you don't have to worry about transportation. All boat drivers know the area like the back of their hand and can take you to private islands you would never even dream of going to such as the mermaid islands, rides through the caves, shopping in Positano, and the best seafood in the world! Mamma Mia also provides the best service and makes all your dreams come true! They go the extra mile and made memories I will never forget!

There is still so much more to see and luckily I have another week to explore! If you haven't traveled to Italy definitely write that down on your bucket list!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
