Trashing A Town Is Not Celebrating, It's Just Obnoxious

You can be happy they won just don't need to take this far

If there is one thing I can rely on its humanities ability to suck.

It’s no surprise that the Eagles win unleashed a riot. I am not saying you can’t celebrate your team’s victory but when people are jumping off buildings, looting stores and burning things, that’s taking it too far, I myself am from Philly area.

You shouldn’t have to rip apart your hometown to celebrate, that’s not celebrating that’s just being obnoxious. It’s just a football game it’s not okay to tear apart your city if your team wins. I’ve seen videos and snaps of things being burnt, and all other craziness that went down. Is that the rep you want our town to have?

The events that have taken place have made people divided, some stating the riots were celebrations of creating unity and love. My question is how? How is rioting a symbol of unity? Is burning things, looting and flipping cars really a symbol of unity? No they didn’t have pitchforks and torches but what occurred was much worse. How are people okay with that behavior?

Can you really say that it is unity, when you have people eating horse crap, or jumping off banisters that then crash? What does it say about your hometown when they keep having to find ways to make sure people can’t climb up light posts? The more crazy the act getting done is the more of an ass you look like, and you can do these things, but don’t be surprised of the outcome.

You can still go out, party and get drunk to celebrate that your team just won a Super Bowl. I mean congratulations your team’s colors just beat the other team’s colors for a shiny trophy. Just know your limits when you’re in the middle of the street setting off fireworks, and cars on fire then it’s gone too far. You shouldn’t have to take it to these lengths to show your support for your team, it’s just not that worth it.

Riots are not a symbol of unity it is a symbol of a party going too wild, or anger over a situation. The city should not have to put everything back, and clean everything up from the people rioting. Also the people’s whose shops got looted from shouldn’t have to put their stores back together they didn’t ask for a bunch of assholes to barge in and take what they please.

Philadelphia is a great and fun city to be in with a lot to do and a lot going on for it and it is good for the city that they won, just not with riots from dumb people tearing apart the city. Just Keeping It Classy Philly.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
