Tragedy, Hurricanes And The Island Of Barbuda
Business Insider

The month of September has been one of trial and natural disasters. Having just dealt with the blow that is Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Jose have entered into the picture, one following the other in a relatively similar path and bringing potential destruction.

One particular island, the Island of Barbuda, has suffered greatly at the hands of Hurricane Irma. 95% of the buildings present on the island have either been somewhat destroyed or completely decimated by the arrival of Irma. Approximately 100 million dollars will be needed to fix the damages. Houses and trees have fallen and been toppled.

However, before islanders could have an adequate chance to recover and rebuild their homes, another threat is brewing, and it is known as Hurricane Jose.

It is expected to reach the island on the afternoon of September 9th, and is a category four hurricane.

The same islands that have been dealt the blow of Irma, are soon to be ominously greeted by Jose.

In times of natural disasters, it is important to stay aware and alert. Watch the news and be aware of the world and its many happenings, no matter how gruesome. Tragedy isn't pleasing, but ignorance won't make it dissipate. Along with the state of Florida, several Caribbean Islands deserve attention and coverage from the media.

In times of peril, keep aware, alert and cautious.

My thoughts and love are with all of the victims.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
