As this holiday season approaches, we should not forget about our presents past.

As Christmas 2016 is shortly upon us, it is the perfect time to reminisce about all the toys we 90's kids wanted back in our childhood.

1. Tamagotchi

It’s safe to say this was the most irresistible toy to 90’s kids. My best memory about these Japanese toys were the kids who had about 10 Tamagotchi’s of varying colors and kinds on a keychain they would carry around school. Everyone wanted to have the best collection.

2. Bop-It

This retro toy put our hand-eye coordination and just overall cool kid skills to the test.

3. Sky dancers

This technology was a breakthrough for Barbie lovers who could now make their dolls spin and fly across the room.

4. Pokémon cards.

The resurgence of the Pokémon craze through the interactive game Pokémon Go this past year perfectly describes the following these creatures have had through the years.

5. K’nex

If you’ve ever put one of these together as an adult, it’s hard to believe I watched my younger brother play with 1000+ piece construction toys as a kid. Twenty pages of instructions and four hours later, you can make something that sort of resembles the a rollercoaster because you swear there is no way the box came with all the right pieces.

6. Furby

This delightfully creepy little fur ball was desired by kids because of its “life-like” eye movements and plushy fur. Glad to know technology has progressed and now in 2016 there are toys that actually hatch from their own hard-shelled egg… yeah.

7. Hot Wheels

Before there was The Fast and The Furious there were these hot wheels.

8. Power Wheels

Whether it was a mini off-roading Jeep or a Barbie Corvette, we all wanted to ride in style even back then.

9. Easy-Bake Oven

There may be some connection between how good I am at making ramen noodles with egg today and playing with Easy Bake ovens as a girl. Either way these magical cakes and cookies were the best on the market for us 90’s kids.

10. Moon Shoes

Parent annoyance level on these is at least a 9/10.

11. Super Soaker

Sibling revenge at its best.

12. Beanie Babies

These stuffed animals may turn out to be a good investment on your parent’s part, considering the most expensive beanie baby has sold for $225,000.00.

13. Pocket Locker

The idea of writing in your friend’s phone numbers, birthdays and your calendar dates on your keypad actually sounded really fun for 90’s girls. Especially because it came with a lock so you had to know the password to get in.

14. American Girl dolls

The prettiest and most expensive dolls to hit the market and not surprisingly blew up in popularity amongst little girls.

15. Hair wraps

Colored hair stripes, hair beading, and colorful hair wraps we’re all the style and you could have it with this do-it-yourself kit.

16. Doll mansions

Everything we would want for ourselves, we would rather give it to our dolls including the talking mansion.

17. Lisa Frank everything

School supplies have never been cooler.

18. YoYo Ball

Middle school’s best party trick, next to being able to dance the worm.

19. Nerf guns

Boys and girls alike loved this suction and Styrofoam dart gun.

20. Game Cube

The best.

21. Game Boy

Because super smash bros was everything.

22. Etch-a-sketch

iPads today can’t compete with the tricks you could learn on this aluminum sketch pad.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
