If you ask someone what their dream home looks like, the conversation can go one of two ways: the person lists in great detail, or the person gives a very ambiguous answer. For me, I've never been the person to give a wishy washy answer, so I thought it might be fun to take you guys on a tour of the home I wish to have one day (in a perfect world).

Let's go!

Exterior:

- How gorgeous is this? I think my favorite part besides the stone detailing is the entryway, I love how thick the pillars are. It's not the most elaborate of homes, but there's something about the thick detailing with the pillars and window frames that I never thought of before.

- A little fire pit in the backyard on paved patio? Sign me up.

Interior:

a. Entryway.

- I'd want the interior to be cozy, with exposed looking wood and soft furnishings. For me, it would be as minimal as possible with decorating, so this entryway would be the goal. It's furnished but not busy, just a comforting place to come home to.

b. Living Room.

- Super cozy, most of the attention is brought to the furniture as opposed to the decorations. I like really muted colors, so if I could I'd probably paint my entire house a nice beige, grey or blue with white accents all around. I'm really into the setup here - the shape of the couch is a nice touch, helping make the space that much cozier.

c. Hallway.

- Not much of a hallway, but I didn't know what to call it! The space between the dining room and the living room, I'd love to divide with these glass barn sliding doors. I think it adds to the rustic feel of the house, and gives it more depth/personality.

d. Dining Room.

- Which, of course, would lead into this rustic looking dining area. I love the idea of a long, exposed wood dining table instead of the formal polished wood tables majority of homes have.

e. Kitchen

- I think I have a thing for exposed wood.

f. Countertops

- Literally, absolutely obsessed with this.

g. Master Bedroom.

- Simple, rustic, and cozy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
