After their four years of high school, many students attend college to undergo another two to eight years of school and preparation. Some colleges make it extremely impossible to get accepted into without amazing grades and SAT scores.

1. Harvard University

Harvard University is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and it is the hardest college to attend in the United States according to its Ivy League status. With a mere acceptance rate of 6%, average GPA of 4.0+ and the average SAT scores of 1400 - 1600, Harvard only accepts unique and outstanding students.


2. Stanford University

Stanford University is located in Stanford, California and is not Ivy league school but has nearly impossible acceptance. The acceptance rate at Stanford is a crazy 5% alongside its SAT range of 1390 - 1580, and an average GPA of 4.0+.

3. Yale University

Yale University is another Ivy league school which comes in at third place and is located in New Haven, Connecticut. This university has an average GPA 4.0+, an acceptance rate of 7% and the average SAT scores of 1430 - 1600.


4. Massachusetts Institute of Technology


The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is not an Ivy league, but it still has insanely low numbers when it comes to acceptance. The average GPA again is a 4.0+, the acceptance rate is 8% and the SAT scores range from 1430 - 1580.


5. California Institute of Technology


This non-Ivy league school is located in Pasadena, California and is the fifth hardest school to get into. With the average GPA of 4.0+, SAT range from 1500 - 1600 and an acceptance rate of 9%, this school only accepts the smartest intellectuals.
