New Year, New Me.
…. At least that is how the saying goes. Amiright?
This Year, January 1st, 2018, happens to fall on a Monday. In other words, the start of the week. There is no better way than starting fresh - brand new - on January 1st and a Monday (at the same time)!
However, does anyone actually start their New Year Resolutions on January 1st? … And, let us face it, by January 8th, a week later, those New Year Resolutions have been broken at least three times…
That is why, rather than calling them Resolutions, I like to refer to them as Goals. That way, rather than having to meet certain resolutions everyday, I have an entire year to accomplish them.
I have also decided that, this year, 2018 is my year… And, not just in terms of accomplishments, but in terms of doing more for me.
With that being said, here are my Top Three New Year Resolutions (Goals) that, without sounding conceited, revolve around doing more for myself.
3. Drinking More Water:
This one sounds a bit silly, because who doesn’t drink water? But, coming from someone who sometimes, quite literally, only drinks half a bottle of water, I am in desperate need of more. That is why I am setting myself the goal of drinking at least one bottle of water every day - no matter what. It’ll definitely be worth running to the restroom every ten minutes (or so).
2. Pampering Myself:
Now, I don’t mean spoiling myself every single day on things that I may or may not need, but a pamper session every now-and-then won’t hurt. Whether that be at home, or going out somewhere to do so, that “me time” is definitely worth it. That is why I am setting myself the goal of pampering myself at least once a month.
Under this section of Pampering Myself, I am also setting myself the task and goal of getting my nails done whenever the polish begins to fully chip. Frankly, I am tired of walking around with bare, uncolorful nails. Besides, getting them done is just another great way of having a pampering session, potentially at a much lesser cost, too!
1. Taking Days Off (When Needed):
It may not sound, or do much, but days off from everything - work especially - is definitely worth it. Those five to eight free hours do incredible amounts of justice in one’s life. Most importantly, the “free time” gives one a chance to breath and to do things at a pace that one is comfortable with.
I don’t normally take days off and I often end up, at times, suffering at the end because the work just piles on, and on, and on, and on.. However, I am setting myself the goal of taking off and giving myself a break whenever it does get “a bit too much” .. because it does.. for everyone.. and 2018 is about realizing that it is okay if it does.

2018 is about three things: self-love, self-care, self-everything.
Make It YOURS.
