Charlotte is no Manhattan but it is a city with many things to do and a growing city at that. This being one of the many reasons why I moved here. I love to have fun with my girlfriends, eat good food, drink yummy drinks, play games, be entertained, laugh, be comfortable, and have nice views. So if you have any of these same interests here are the top 6 best places I’ve been since I’ve moved to the Queen City, along with my favorite and least favorite things about these little adventures.

1. Farenheit

I would have to say Fahrenheit is my favorite place I've been in Charlotte. I went with a group of friends for brunch and they ordered yummy bloody marys. These drinks had just the right amount of spice with shrimp on a stick hanging off the side. I got the snow crab benedict and it was amazing. The only downfall to this fabulous place was I got there late so I was stuck in the sun sweating while I brunched, so make sure you get a spot to the side or in the shade. Also, the waitress seemed to still be hungover, well was hungover because she told us and didn’t get to us for a good 20 minutes.

2. Sycamore brewing

This was one of the cutest places I've been with lights hanging overhead, dogs laying next to owners, and the smell of food trucks drawing you in on Friday's. I enjoyed this place because it gave a welcoming vibe to everyone, very laid back and for people of all ages and types. I ordered a blonde ale and talked and laughed with friends. Everyone was in a good mood and I could have sat there all night long. I couldn’t say one bad thing about this place… except the fact that they close around 11 which just left me even more excited for the next trip.

3.Recess

I actually use to work here so I guess I could be a little biased but this place has some of the best food and games around. No I.D. to enter at the door like Queen Park Social so you can invite any of your friends. Drink buckets are only 10 dollars and the food is tapas style so it’s super fun and cheap to share with friends. They have some of my favorite games such as giant Jenga, connect four, air hockey, swings and tetherball outside. They have Uno cards on tables so you and your friends are never bored while waiting for food. The only downfall I would have to say is at times food and drinks can take awhile when they are busy.

4.Yoga at Blue Blaze Brewing

Okay so I haven’t been here yet but I had to mention it because I'm dying to go. Sometimes it’s hard for me in yoga to feel totally relaxed so whoever invented the idea of having a brew while you are in the process of trying to zen ya self I applaud you! Can't wait to try this one out and let you guys know!

5. Pop Bar

If you are a college girl living in Charlotte and haven't visited this little pop-up heaven then I'm disappointed. First of all, Noda is filled with the cutest backdrops (the purple wall) to take cute pop bar pics, so get with the program and go see this place! You get to completely create your own pop & get a cute insta pics in the process what could be better right. No complaints here ladies!!

6. Cabo Fish Taco

I’m obsessed with Noda and if you are a human being with a pulse and appetite you will be sure to catch the obsession as well. Many of my friends told me I must try out this cute little joint and I didn’t fight them due to my love for fish tacos. All it took for me was going one time and I was hooked, so hooked I ended up going 4 times in one month. I get the mani bbq fish taco with spicy beans and rice. As I type this my stomach is screaming at me to get out of this classroom and drive straight to Noda. You also get a unique salsa and warm chips while you wait. So obvi no complaints here people!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
