You know those beauty products that you are so grateful you found? Your "holy grail" items that once you discover them, you're 99% sure you'll never go back to a life without them? I want to continue sharing them with you because no girl should have to go about struggling with different products when another girl knows what's up. So as a continuation of My Top 4 Beauty Essentials That Will Have You Feel Amazing article, I present to you part two...
1. Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer
I am pretty fair skinned. I don't have a porcelain complexion, but I'm not on the tanner side either. When I went to Ulta while they were having a sale and saw this product on the shelves, one of my best friends and I both decided to trust the name brand and take advantage of the price to try it.
I will never go back to a time where I didn't use this ever again. Within 2-3 uses of the product applying to my wet skin after showering and almost immediately drying with a towel (without it coming off!), I have noticed a drastic but supernatural change on where I applied the lotion and have even received compliments on my tan in the middle of winter. It doesn't peel, fades naturally when not used for a while, isn't orange-y and is super easy to apply because it's literally just a moisturizer. My friend has been using this too, even more than I have and we both agree that this product is AMAZING.
2. Trader Joe's Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Recently for the first time in my life, I dyed most of my hair. I complimented my natural red locks with blonde balayage and as excited as I was (and still am, to be honest) I was also slightly worried about drying out my hair from the bleach. I have experience with damaged hair from the beach over the summer and that was with my natural un-touched hair, so I wasn't sure how healthy it would look when I stripped my strands with bleach. I had a plan though--my hair couldn't be too damaged if I constantly used a hair mask though, right? That's where this product comes in.
It is a 5-minute in-shower hair mask that can be left in your hair in a shower cap while you finish washing up and then washed out before you get out of the shower. I usually wash my hair 1-2 times a week and every time I would wash it, I used this hair mask. It has been two months since I got my hair done and I am so happy to report that I have not had ANY problems with my hair drying out after using this product. It's a hair lifesaver, guys.
3. Benefit Cosmetics' Hoola Zero Tanlines Allover Body Bronzer
I bought this one-day washes-out-in-the-shower body bronzer before I found the Jergens wet skin moisturizer and even though it may not be completely necessary to have both products, there's a good reason to have this one too.
I decided on buying this body bronzer when preparing for my school's Autumn Ball dance and when my friends were discussing getting spray tans which cost about $40, I was on-board until I found this product. For $30, I was able to apply my own temporary tan as many times as I wanted without having to constantly spend $40. The tan comes out natural and beautiful and doesn't transfer all over your clothes once it dries in a few minutes. I keep this around for special occasions and plan on using it on top of my Jergens wet skin moisturizer to give an extra glow that is usually craved during the spring and summer.
4. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal cream eyeshadow
This was recommended to me by the same friend who bought my first recommendation and it was so worth it. I don't usually buy eyeshadows from Maybelline or most drugstore brands for that matter, for no reason other than I've never been impressed with them before, but this 24 HR cream eyeshadow is pretty great.
When I'm getting ready for school and want a natural but fresh look, I apply this on my eyelids with mascara and my eyes brighten up instantly. I wet a firm brush with e.l.f cosmetics matte setting spray and use it to apply it on my eyelids and inner corners. The color I use in particular is named "Barely Branded" and truly deserves a spot on my top recommendations.
I hope these recommendations help you with any beauty woes you may have been having or finding new products for your own arsenal!
Remember to drink water, eat well, workout, get enough sleep, be kind and keep a sunny attitude because outer beauty starts from the inside and these products can only do so much! Keep on being your own kind of beautiful.
