Top 5 Summer Activities

As school is coming to an end, you might be thinking, "What am I going to do this summer?" Of course, working is the obvious option. Or maybe you'll hang out by the pool or just sit at home binge-watching Netflix. Well, I might have some solutions to help your summer become a little less boring.

1. Take a road trip.

You know that road trip that you've always wanted to take but you never got around to? Well now's your chance! Grab a couple of friends, pack up your car and just drive! You can plan a road trip to go to your favorite beach, or you can go to all those places you said you wanted to go this year!

2. Plan a fun weekend in the city.

Whether this is just a girls weekend or a fun weekend with all of your friends, it will definitely be a weekend to remember! You can come right back here to Philadelphia and do all of the things you didn't get to do in the beginning of the year, or you can plan an awesome weekend in NYC!

3. Take a beach day.

Pack up the car again and head down for a fun day at the beach! There is always so much to do at the beach -- there will be something for everyone! You can just relax and lie in the sand or learn how to skim board!

4. Go to a concert.

There are so many great artists that are coming to Philly this summer. Plus, there are also a lot of free concerts in Philly that you can attend! Pick an artist that you and you're friends have been dying to see and go!

5. Pick up a new hobby.

You know that yoga class you have been dying to try? Well now is the perfect time to do it! Summer is the perfect time for you to pick up new hobbies and activities; you have all summer to learn them and practice them!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
