It is one week until Halloween! Unless you are not prepared - like myself - you probably already have your costume. I personally plan on going as my own version of Harley Quinn - let me make it clear that it is not the Suicide Squad version. I don't have the money for a real costume so I decided to get creative and use what I had lying around the house to create my makeshift Harley.
Anywho, although I am sure there will be plenty of Harley Quinns at any given Halloween party or attraction, here are some of the top costumes from 2016.
1. Emojis. This year dressing like an emoji or a Snapchat filter is very popular. Some people seem to just a big yellow smiley face, while others may get a bit more creative and dress as the smiley vomiting rainbows while donned completely in rainbow and unicorn likeness.
2. Superheroes. Surprised? Neither am I. Superheroes (or villains) are always a popular choice when dressing up for Halloween. Although I am not particularly fond of the female rendition of originally male heroes, couples or groups of friends go as their favorite hero or group of heroes. After Suicide Squad, which was released this past summer, I am certain there will be may Harley Quinns around.
3. Pokemon. Apparently Pokemon are popular this year as well. I assume this stemmed from the craze that swept the nation after the release of the app Pokemon Go. People are choosing to be Pokemon or even Pokemon Go inspired trainers for Halloween.
4. Politicians. Of course with our country counting down the hours until Election day, many people are going to dress as a politician, either mocking them or supporting them. Either way, expect to see Trumps and Clintons knocking at your door and asking for more than your vote, while trick-or-treating.
5. Clowns. You would think that after the clowns committing crimes as recent as a few weeks ago that this would not be as popular of a costume this year. Well, whether you're donned in a cute clown costume or you are that "psycho" killer clown, it looks like your costume has made it to the most popular costume list of 2016. Rumors, pranks, and I suppose even recent hysteria, won't stop people from dressing as clowns this year.
Did your costume make it on the list? Maybe your costume was more creative and well thought out. What are you being for Halloween? Comment below and share!
