My Top 5 Dream Vacation Spots

We all want to leave and go someplace magical; these are my someplace else.

Everyone usually has dreams of going someplace other than where they are. Sometimes it's all the way across the world to Asia, but it can also be somewhere in the same state -- even the same town! For me, I have five locations outside of even my own country that I want to visit during my lifetime. Here are my top 5 dream vacation spots that I really want to go to.

1. Ireland

Why Ireland? Because it looks absolutely beautiful from all the photos I've seen. Endless green, grassy hills and cliffs that overlook huge bodies of water. Castles and keeps that still remain from the past, some in ruins but still so beautiful to see.

Sunsets and sunrises of the utmost wonder because of the endless green and the bluest sky. My inner artist screams at me to go visit to get a lot of practice doing landscapes to show everyone else it's beauty. Plus, the local accent is pretty to listen to.

2. Scotland

The land of men in kilts, warriors and cave men. Or at least that's a lot of what comes through in some of the romance novels I've read. My biggest draw to Scotland are the Highlanders.

I'm really interested in learning more about them as well as going to the highlands to see what it's all about. I also want to visit Edinburgh, Scotland's capital. I've looked it up and learned about the Georgian New Town gardens and neoclassical buildings.

Scotland is also beautiful, with the mountains, lakes, and seemingly endless forests. Scottish accents are also really hot, and it'd be interesting to see men in kilts.

3. England

For me, England is a place to visit because without there having been an England, there wouldn't be the United States of America. There's the pull of history there for me with England.

Also, Stonehenge is out there and I want to visit in person rather than studying it via pictures. I also would love to visit London and see the buildings, the architecture, and see all the places from history.

I wonder if I could dance in a real ballroom! Maybe go to court, meet the queen, and see the famous England country.

4. France

Who hasn't wanted to go to France? It's like the country of romance. Or at least that's how it can be portrayed.

For France, I again feel the pull to learn more about the history as well as go to all the historical landmarks. I'd especially like to see where the guillotine was, learn more about how the Reign of Terror and how it affected France from the people there.

I also want to try the pastries, see the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame. I would love to visit all the castles there and explore the mountains. It'd be amazing to stay in a cute little cottage that overlooked a forest too.

5. Italy

Ah, Italy. There are so many reasons I'd love to visit this country. The Romans, the food, the history, and my own familial connection.

I love learning about the Romans and the Greeks, their history and their art intrigue me. I want to visit the Colosseum and pretend to be watching a fight -- although I'm not sure I'd want to cheer -- before visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

I want to go to Venice and ride a gondola down the streams they count as their streets. I want to learn how to make pasta from the chefs there, because man do I love some amazing pasta in my stomach. This is also the real place of romance with the food and gondola.

Ah, I would just love to travel the world, in all honesty. If I had the money and time, I would visit all the places I could, perhaps avoiding a couple of areas due to war, but I'd love to see every place I can, even the sad ones. Hopefully some day I'll be able to go to at least one of these places. For now, I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming of them.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
