The Bluths are back and hopefully that means more chicken impressions

Top 5 ‘Arrested Development’ Running Gags
Netflix

To celebrate season 5 making its way to our Netflix screens May 29th, here are my top 5 favorite running gags from the cult classic comedy.

5. The Stair Car

The stair car, a vehicle Michael uses throughout the series and eventually gives to his son George Michael has been used for many jokes. From unintentionally letting prisoners escape George Sr’s prison to the ‘hop ons’ it’s not only an eye sore, but a burden for Michael to drive.

4. George Sr and his Twin Brother Oscar

Both played by Jeffery Tambor, George Sr and Oscar couldn’t be more different. One is the monarch of a major business and the other is a no ambitions ‘hippie’. Their differences almost always land Oscar in hot water and George Senior is known to switch the two of them, unknown to Oscar in order to get away from the law.

3. Lucille pitting her children against one another

This gag happens a few times a season, sometimes without her children realizing it. Lucille Bluth, one of the funniest and horrendous TV mothers of all time is known to deflect heat on her from her children, especially Michael, right back at them by pinning the blame on the other 3. This usually results in a rollercoaster of confrontations until they all eventually realize that she was shifting the blame all along.

2. Buster’s attachment to Lucille

In one of the more detailed gags, seriously go watch “Out on a Limb,” Busters attachment to his mother is one of the funniest and cringy gags from the show. In fact the one time we see him truly ‘going against mother’s wishes’ he gets his hand bit off by, you guessed it, a ‘loose seal.’

1. Tobias not hearing his double entendres

This gag gets so unbearable for Michael he asks Tobias to record himself. Everyone’s favorite wannabe actor can’t seem to land a role or understand why after nearly everything he says the family gives him a weird look. From saying things like “I blue myself” when auditioning for The Blue Man Group to “Does anyone want a sausage in the mouth” when he has disguised himself as ‘Mrs. Featherbottom’ this struggling actor/formal doctor is by far my favorite character on the show, although he does has stiff competition. See? Now I’m doing it too.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
