We all have our bad days, but this here is a list of universal day ruiners that really know how to be the icing on the cake.

1. When your sock falls halfway off your foot.

2. When theres no more eraser left on your pencil and it's completely flat and it leaves the black/silver line across your paper because there's no more eraser.

3. Walking into the bathroom wearing socks and stepping in shower water.

4. Being in a huge rush and turning on the car to an empty gas tank.

5. Noticing there's no toilet paper left... mid-pee.

6. Being at the very bottom of the stairs before realizing what it is that you forgot.

7. Being left on read.

8. Phone battery falling to 1%.

9. Waiters singing happy birthday to the table next to you.

10. Dropping deodorant and it falling apart into a million pieces.

11. Finding a cute old photo but it has a date stamp.

12. Talking to someone with bad breath.

13. Eating a nice meal and biting your tongue/lip.

14. That fabulous moment when you stub your toe.

15. Even better than stubbing your toe, hitting your funny bone on a hard surface.

16. About to fall asleep and then suddenly getting a debilitating foot cramp.

17. The restaurant being completely out of the food you were craving.

18. Answering a phone call from work hoping it is them telling you that you don't have to come in just to find out they need you to come in early.

19. When you pay $4.00 for a coffee that the barrista makes wrong.

20. Being the barrista the bitch from #19 complains to.

21. Pulling up your pants and breaking the belt loop.

22. When your boss tries to talk politics with you but you have no idea where he stands and whether or not you'll still have a job after the conversation.

23. Realizing you forgot to plug in your phone when you went to sleep.

24. Realizing that not only did you forget to plug in your phone but you also forgot to set the alarm.

25. Waking up in the middle of the night and thinking you're late for whatever it is you have to do the next morning.

26. Someone bailing on plans.

27. Realizing you are going to be late no matter how fast you travel down the freeway.

28. When anyone drops a backhanded complement.

29. Falling in love with clothing on the rack and falling out of love the second you try it on.

30. Spending money on a drink or food and dropping it before the first sip/bite.

31. This one hits real close to home, looking at your bank account.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
