American Toys have developed over the years. When life was simpler so were the toys. Kids could play for hours with little dolls and toy figurines. Now children's toys are so electronically advanced kids now a days would just laugh at the toys of the past. Each year certain toys are the "it" toy. This toy is wanted by children everywhere and fought over by every parent at Black Friday. As Christmas slowly approaches us I've decided to make a throwback list of the toys of the past. Below you'll find all the toys you once cried over not having and celebrated when you received them. Tragically I owned more than half the list below. While making this list I had completely forgotten about over half of these toys, but you can't forget the good times, good toys, and loads of memories.
1) The Radio Flyer
If you didn't have the Radio Flyer Wagon who were you? If you're anything like my family your parents had the same wagon and your parents parents.
2) The Magic 8 Ball
This fortune telling toy helped teenagers everywhere make those tough life decisions. Does ____ ___ like me, was a very popular question.
3) Fisher Price Little People
This once popular toy was owned by children everywhere. These toys were also made into an animated television show with over 140 episodes.
4) Mr. Potato Head
Mr. Potato Head is a still popular toy. This toy has lived on through the years remodel after remodel. This toy has continued to be popular in Disney's Toy Story Trilogy and short Toy Story specials.
5) Etch A Sketch
To draw on an etch a sketch meant you had talent that was through the roof. Etch A Sketches are still around so if you find one try giving it another try!
6) Easy-Bake Oven
I never understood the easy bake oven phenomenon. All the food never tasted good and I was 100% sure it was under cooked.
7) G.I. Joe
Every little boy had these toys. These toys even went on to have their own movie with Channing Tatum himself. Thank you G.I. Joe
8) Rubik's Cube
This toy still mentally challenges people everywhere. Never completed you, never will.
9) Cabbage Patch Kids
I owned at least 10 Cabbage Patch Kids. I had my mom's and mine combined. You can still find them in the stores so the memories live on.
10) Tickle Me Elmo
Once you tickle Elmo he never stops laughing. This is a warning: don't do it.
11) Furby
Now looking back at this toy I'm not sure what the rage was, but I was a furby for Halloween when I was two.
12) Wii
Nothing was like the Wii when it first came out. Everyone across the globe was playing tennis and golf. Now the Will is kind of Archaic.
13) Bratz
The Bratz have lived on through the ages. I knew all the songs and I owned about 1000. They stopped production briefly, but the Bratz have returned.
14) Razor Scooter
I loved my Razor Scooter. I often ate the pavement. Good times.
15) Pregnant Barbie Midge
This toy caused an uproar from parents across America, but that didn't stop little girls from wanting it. Every little girl wanted a pregnant Barbie. She could even come with twins. Sadly it was pulled from the shelves.
