Did you know that there is a sixth "Mission: Impossible" movie coming out? Me neither! However, due to Tom Cruise's recent injury on set, filming will be on hiatus until he makes a full recovery.
For those of you who don't know, "Mission: Impossible" is about an agent who goes on dangerous missions to stop some type of bad guy from destroying the world. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. It's basically like "James Bond".
"Mission: Impossible" first came out in 1996, based off of the TV series with the same name. Tom Cruise has produced and starred in all of the movies.
The story line follows the life of agent Ethan Hunt as he goes on missions to "save the world." He falls in love, gets hurt, you know the drill.
Despite it being a very typical type of movie, it also has a lot of twists and turns that the audience doesn't expect. Overall, I 10/10 recommend.
The franchise of all six movie has had a budget of $650 million, and the box office earnings from these movies has been $2.77 billion, not including the most recent movie because, obviously, it has not been released yet.
"During production on the latest "Mission: Impossible" film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt," Paramount said last Wednesday in a statement. "Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery."
Tom Cruise, who is known for being able to do his own stunts, injured himself two weekends ago in London while jumping between buildings and then slamming into a building. He injured himself on day 88 of shooting. The cast and crew are planning on two more months of filming before the movie can start being edited.
Even though shooting has now been set back by at least six weeks, the movie is still planning on being released on July 27, 2018.
