To All Those Who Have An 'Ehh' Kind Of Summer

This week I decided I wanted to rant a little bit...

This summer has been full of ups and downs, mostly ups thankfully! But I work a lot and I was not able to do a lot of the things that I really wanted to do, like hiking, or going to an amusement park. Ironically I need money to do most of the things I want to do.

Every year I tell myself that this will be the best summer ever! But by the end of it, I usually haven't done any of the things I really wanted to do; and of course, the same thing happened this summer too! I don't know when I will finally have that best summer yet. I hope it's soon!

Now, I don't want to trash on all the summers I've had, they all have been so wonderful! This summer I went to a Luke Bryan concert, visited one of my best friends in Rhode Island and had a blast! So I guess overall I had a good summer, and once I get back in school I will have a blast as well! I am so excited to re-decorate my dorm room and see all my friends and go to class! (I know, me being excited to go to class is crazy!)

Here's to my girls for a new year! Let's make it the best!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
