The election is hours away, and millions of U.S. citizens are preparing to elect a new president. It's no secret that there have been a plethora of scandals this election cycle. It's also no secret that our choices for president haven't been exactly top notch, and it seems to me that the election is really just a question of who's the lesser of the two evils.
Now I ask you, the women for Donald Trump: why did Trump get your vote?
We can ignore his heinous views on immigration and pretty much everything else, to focus more on his equally disgusting opinions of women and what they choose to do with their bodies.
Regardless of your personal opinions on abortion, how on earth could you vote for a man who is threatening to take the freedom of choice away from women everywhere? Trump refuses to allow government funding for abortions and wants to completely ban the procedure. Leaving women who seek abortions (for medical or personal reasons) to do so illegally, and potentially without the proper medical care. Trump believes that women should receive "some form of punishment" if they elect to terminate their pregnancy.
Either way, Trump has neither a uterus nor is he directly involved in neither the life of the mother or the child (well, hopefully anyway.)
If women allow men to make decisions about our reproductive health, who's to say that they won't make other decisions about different aspects of our lives ? And I don't know about you, but I am perfectly capable of making decisions for myself. Especially those regarding my health, safety, and overall happiness.
If his determination to remove a basic human right to make a decision wasn't bad enough, Donald Trump has been involved in many a sexual abuse scandal. After a video was released of Trump making vulgar comments about women, as many as 23 women have come out with allegations that Trump has sexually abused or violated them in some way.
And so I ask you, women for Donald Trump: how on earth can you support a man who is considered a sex offender? How can you tell your daughter that you voted for a man who said it was okay to "Grab ’em by the pu**y. You can do anything." (Get the full video transcript here) And how could you vote for a man who justified such a statement as nothing more than "locker room talk?" Are you telling me that you would support another man if he said these things to you or your daughter?
This has nothing to do with feminism, and everything to do with the fact that a man accused of raping a child and sexually assaulting 23 women (among other things..) is in the position to potentially hold the highest form of office.
So you tell me, why exactly did you decide to support this individual? I'm all ears.
