Most professors like their job and often still practice what they are teaching in the classroom. Very few professors are still passionate about whatever they're teaching. They've been doing it all their life and there's not really any spark when they speak about it or glint in their eye when their student is doing well with it.
I just wanted to say thank you to the professor that taught me so much more than what we learned in the classroom this semester
Dear Professor,
You taught me so much this semester, not only something that you're passionate about, but so much more than just what we learned.
From the moment I stepped into your classroom on that first day in January, I saw just how passionate about this subject you were. You had a big smile on your face and you couldn't control it or that glint in your eye. I have to admit, I wasn't excited to be taking your class because I didn't think it would be fun. I am not a fan of the subject at all, but from your passion, I could see why you love it and why other people love it too. The way you talked about it, I'm not sure the class knew exactly what you were saying, but I think I understood, even though you weren't making much sense at times.
Sometimes I forget the feeling that I get from writing about something I'm passionate about. You always reminded me how great it can feel, how it makes you feel alive, and how grateful it makes you feel because if you weren't alive, you wouldn't be experiencing the thrill you get from it. You said whatever you do in life, do whatever makes you feel the most alive in the world and I will forever follow that advice.
Thank you for sharing your passions with me and thank you for teaching me to be passionate about everything I do. Thank you for pushing me to be a better writer and a better version of myself. Thank you for being brutally honest and motivational and understanding. Thank you for making me give the subject I wasn't fond of a chance.
I've enjoyed every second of our class and I'm forever grateful for you.
From,
A Passionate Student
