Well guys, It's our year. Even saying that makes me want to throw up, but it's not the bad kind of throw up like when something disgusts you. It's that-finally kissing the guy you've been crushing on kind of throw up.

I'm not sure about all of you, but I didn't graduate on time. Like many others, I debated on what I actually wanted to do, then after procrastinating and pointless classes later, changed my major.

So here I am.. I can finally say that 2018 is my year. I don't remember the last time I wasn't stressed about classes or school related things, so to finally look a year in the face, and know it's going to bring you nothing but great things, is undoubtedly one of the most exciting feelings for me.

If you don't hear it enough-

Good. For. You.

You busted your ass through late nights with barely any sleep/food just to get up and take a test on material that you learned 6 months ago and are just now being tested on it.

You denied invites to social events you knew you wanted to go to but didn't just so you could pass a class you needed to graduate.

You took out loans you'd knew you'd have to pay back in the future and would bring you nothing but stress. Instead of making excuses, you just did it, and I'm proud of you.

For all the work we put in, I don't think we are told enough how great we actually are for seeing something like this through. No matter what you went to school to be, you went to school, and that's genuinely all that matters.

THIS. IS. OUR. YEAR.

To do "big things", to go out of our comfort zones and explore things we never thought we'd want to explore. To meet the guy (or girl), fall in love, start a family (or none). It's all up to us, and our path is completely new after this year. How exciting is it to finally known we are in control of our own future? No test, teacher, or late night will stop us from reaching the dreams we set out to achieve. If that's not all the reason and more to be happy with 2018, I don't know what is.

From now to then...yes it may get hard. There may be nights you want to throw in the towel and say "f*ck it." I get it. Trust me I do. All of the years of education (from Pre-K to now) have literally been for this moment. So we could finally, at one point, say: "We are done with school and onto our careers."

It's intimidating, scary, stressful, hard, fun, exciting, nerve-racking, and challenging all twisted into one giant ball. But the fact that there is an end goal in all of this, makes that ball all the more exciting to catch.

I can't speak for everyone, but 2018 is my year. This is the year where it will all change for me, and graduation is the first thing that will do it for me. Even if I don't hear it from anyone else (and neither do you) I'm super proud of YOU. For sticking with school, seeing it all through, doing what you were destined to do...not many people can say that,

but after 2018?

You can..

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
