This one is for all the girls who have had to deal with that one guy at the bar who just won't leave you, or your friend(s) alone. This is also for every guy that goes out and hopefully thinks twice before hitting on a girl, or vice versa, girls can be just as aggressive. In this case, the predator was a male who just didn't get the hint that I wasn't interested, or that his comments were obscene and uncalled for. Personally, I don't think anyone should have to deal with this, but it happens.
To the guy at the bar staring at me, what is going to make you stop? Oh, so now you’re going to look me up and down? Cute, now you’re inching closer to me — please don’t try and talk to me, please.
“Hi. Wow, aren’t you a tall glass of water! You have nice legs, what time do they open?” “Excuse me?” “Oh sorry, hi I’m _____, what’s your name?” “Savannah.” “Your name is almost as pretty as you, can I buy you a drink?” “No, thank you though.”
As if you couldn’t take the hint, you still try to talk to me. I’m trying my best to ignore you, but you’re just not getting it. Now you want to continue making comments about my body...okay.
It’s guys like you that discourage girls that want to go out and try to have a good time. I can’t wear a dress out without a guy thinking I’m offering myself up. I can wear what I want, when I want. Just because I'm wearing a dress, doesn't me it's consent for you to think I’m even the slightest bit interested in you. It’s not up to you if I want to go home with you. It’s not up to you if I want a drink or not. "No thank you," is me being as polite as possible, now leave me alone please.
An hour goes by and you’re 10 times more intoxicated than before, and you’re feeling ballsy. Now you come over to me and my friends and put your arm around me and try to kiss my cheek. Are you kidding me? Do you have some sort of death wish? I push you away and you laugh. Apparently this is all very funny to you. I dodge you and run to the restroom to try and hide from you. I wait until the coast is clear, and run. There’s no sign of you, I’m filled with relief in hopes that you either left or you were kicked out. That is until I see you come out of the men's room. I call over the bartender and ask to close my tab, grab my friends and we try to dart out.
"Leaving so soon? Not even a good-bye kiss? You f***ing b****!"
Congratulations jerk, you have successfully made a fool out of yourself and disgusted me. I can only hope that you remember how much of an ass you were when you woke up the next morning, or your friends enlightened you. I hope you change. I hope you stop objectifying women and get a life.
Sincerely,
The Girl You Harassed Who Was Trying to Have a Good Time
