Dear girls who kill the make-up game,

First of all, how? How do you do it? How can you wing your eyeliner so perfectly? How is your contour and highlight always look so natural? How do you get your eye shadow to have the perfect blend? Just how? Please, please teach me your ways.

So I like to think of myself as someone who can do her own make-up fairly well. But when I go out I seem some girls and it’s a whole new level. I have done enough trial and error to know what looks good on my face, what colors work well with my complexion and how much eyeliner is enough. From what I have observed, there is so much more to the make-up world that I am just so unaware of. Like I’ve heard the methods before, but the thought of attempting to put that on my face is a foreign concept. I would honestly look like a drunk clown. Contouring, yeah I get the point, but what do I use? How do I go about blending it in? How do live the contour life?

I know the basics and some. I can use the power of make-up to make myself feel good (because that is why us girls do it, let’s be real). I can figure out what is good quality and I find it important and worth it to invest in the good quality. I just wish I knew how to properly put it to good use in order to make the most of it. I want to be able to use the highlighter I got in my monthly Birchbox, but if I even make an attempt I’m going to look like a glow stick. About the only thing I really like to do is lipstick. Yes, I love Kylie Cosmetics lip kits… yes, I have a million different colors. Now all I need to do is be able to do everything else as well as I can do lipstick.

I love the fact that girls love and are good at make-up. So many people nowadays have a point of view that give make-up a bad name. “Make-up is hiding a girl’s inner beauty” or “girls only wear make-up for guys.” Absolutely not to any of those accusations. Girls wear make-up because it makes them feel beautiful and because it makes them feel confident… and isn’t that what we want in this society? To make girls feel beautiful and secure about themselves? I think a girl who can kill her make-up game and is confident about it, is so powerful. If it makes her happy and makes her feel good about herself, then I’m all for it.

So girls who can actually do the make-up thing, please teach me your ways. And keep on killing it and looking so badass.

From,

The girl who cannot do her make-up

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
