It is crazy to think we met four long months ago! Four months ago on move-in day, I was a ball of emotions, a nervous wreck, super excited, and dreading leaving my family and friends behind.
The first weekend of school, 10 of us decided to play cards against humanity in our friend's room. Looking back now, that was the beginning of some amazing friendships! Since that weekend, we spend almost every minute together! Whether we are doing laundry, walking to class, going to get lunch, have to pick up a package, or just want to procrastinate homework, we do it together!
September was such a hard month for me. I was super homesick, overwhelmed with school work, having problems with my roommate and I seriously considered transferring to a school back home in Massachusetts.
This being said, I probably would not still be attending the University of Maine if I did not have my amazing friends. They were all so supportive and helped me with my school work, roommate problems, and I got over my homesickness. Being 300 miles away from home, is never easy and I will always miss my friends and family at home, but I now have an amazing new support system here.
Being an only child, living within 100 feet of nine of your friends is an experience I've never had. Being able to walk out into the hallway in an outfit and yell, "someone look and tell me if this looks OK" is something everyone should be able to experience! Sharing nine closets, and always having someone willing to do your hair and makeup is the best!
I would not trade the memories of procrastinating homework, partying, movie nights, playing hide and seek, watching the first snowfall, and dinner dates for anything in the world.
I got extremely lucky, making the amazing friends I did, and having them all live on my floor. I could not have made it through this semester without you.
I cannot wait to spend the next three years making more great memories with you.
