To The Friend That Doesn't Want To Be Here Anymore

I love you.

Let's start with that.

I wish I could be there every time those thoughts tell you that you aren't enough, or that we don't love you, or that you aren't worth it. Truthfully, you have an army that would jump in your brain and fight the darkness at a moment's notice if we could.

There's nothing you could do that would stop me from caring. I was your friend when we were dorky freshman, stupid juniors, and clueless "adults." Whether you're on top of the world or under the ocean, I hope that you know I'm only a phone call away, and I will be there as soon as possible by way of planes, trains, or submarines.

Life does this thing where it throws curveballs at you that you never saw coming. Friendships change in little and big ways, and I want you to know that any space that grew wasn't because of a lack of caring. Sometimes I feel guilty that I don't have more answers. While you don't expect me to heal you, I wish with everything that I could.

For all the reasons that you have chosen to stay this long, thank you.

Please keep choosing to stay.

You have brought a light into my life that I cannot imagine living without. Thank you for making memories with me that will make the whole party laugh and that I will treasure in quiet moments.

I can only imagine how scary it is to have your brain working to convince you of things that you know aren't true. I cannot express the relief when you told me you were getting help. Your strength gives me hope for the future, and I'm excited for you to start to feel like yourself again.

Through the highs and lows, thank you for always being my friend. No friendship is perfect, but ours is pretty darn special. I will always fight for us, and I will always fight for you.

It feels cliche to say that things will get better, but they really will.

Let's end with this:

You are loved.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
