To The Friend I Didn't See Coming

You reminded me of my self-worth and you helped me through my hardest times

Mary Kay Schultz

From busting out wings to getting new Christmas decorations for our moms, I've never met someone I've clicked with as solid and as quick as you. Here's a thank you for being the friend I never saw coming. Here's a thank you for being you.

Thank you for being my go to girl.

When I needed a couch to crash on, an extra mug for mug club, or a ride to class when I woke up too late and too hungover; you were there for me. You are the only one I wanted to do things with whether that be sleeping on your futon or taking a random mini van trip with a stranger; it's all fine because I had you.

Thank you for always being honest. Whether it was when I was being thoughtless, my shoes didn't work with my dress, or when nothing was wrong at all and you just needed your space; thank you for never keeping me guessing.

Thank you for listening.

The number of times I have gone over and over with you about boys or anxiety or body image is countless but you're always there to listen. I never feel like I'm annoying you and you always remember the small facts which proves you were listening. Friends like that are hard to come by. So thank you for being that friend, because lord knows I needed it.

Thank you for sharing so much of you with me.

I will always remember the night we stayed up and spilled our souls. I told you things even my longest friends do not know and you did the same. It was easy and felt natural to talk to you and I've never regretted sharing my soul with you and I'm thankful you trusted me with yours.

Thank you for seeing me through my worst and staying even when it was probably hard.

Things got dicey; you saw me at my lowest. You reminded me of my self-worth and you helped me through my hardest times but better yet; you continue to push me through. You're still here and that's amazing.

So thank you for being the friend I never saw coming, because you ended up being one of the best things to ever happen to me. I can never thank you enough for everything you've done for me. Our friendship is one of a kind and I'll be forever grateful for that.

Everyone remembers the first time they went to one of the Disney parks. Spinning in teacups and having Goofy wrap his arms around my 8-year-old self were some of my fondest childhood memories, and I'm surely not alone in that.

These Superfood Beauty Products Show Kale And Matcha Work For SO Much More Than We Thought

Just another summer's day with a cold glass of kombucha on my face.

I've been vegan for about six years now, so a love for fresh vegetables and superfoods has now become a core part of my being. Don't get me wrong. I love my indulgent, creamy pastas and truffle fries more than anyone. But I keep most of my focus on eating clean and healthy so I can indulge guilt-free.

But I'd say about a large part of my diet has always, unknowingly, included superfoods. Being Indian, lentils, beetroot, garlic, ginger, and whole grains have been core essentials on the family dinner table since I could digest solid foods.

We Asked You How You Felt About Resuming 'Normal' Activities, And Some Of Your Answers Shocked Us

The New York Times asked 511 epidemiologists when they'd feel comfortable doing "normal" activities again, considering COVID-19. We asked our peers the same thing, for science.

Last month, the New York Times surveyed about 500 epidemiologists asking about their comfort level with certain activities once deemed normal — socializing with friends, going to the doctor, bringing in the mail. That's all well and good for the experts, but they are a very niche group, not the majority of the population. What do "normal" people feel safe doing? In certain states, we've seen how comfortable everyone is with everything (looking at you, Florida), but we wanted to know where Odyssey's readers fell on the comfort scale. Are they sticking with the epidemiologists who won't be attending a wedding for another year, or are they storming the sunny beaches as soon as possible?
