Remembering The Good, Old Days

To the days that got away.

Remembering The Good, Old Days

To the days that flew by way too fast,

When I am studying for finals, writing 10 papers, answering emails, and cooking, I definitely miss the old days. Going to elementary school was not so bad after all. Remember the days when we had recess to break our school day up?

When you have to decide your future career at 18-years-old, you realize life is not so simple anymore. The days where your biggest decision was which friend you wanted to play with on the playground are over.

You have officially entered a new time period in your life. Things are definitely a bit different now, but you will be just fine. I promise you that all those memories will forever stay in your mind, however, now you will make even more memories.

During middle school, we all thought the soccer games at recess were the World Cup final games. The tic-tac Friday at recess was the best gift we got from our principal. The 100% on our spelling test was determining our success in the future. Oh, how I miss those days.

We now come to find out that the game at recess was for fun. The present from the principal, you will never get a gift from again. Also, that spelling test was not determining your future. A lot happens overtime and the fantasy when you are young growing up does not remain the same throughout early adulthood.

I want to thank those good old times. I want to thank you for the laughs, tears, and definitely the losses. That 4th grade Geography Bee will always be a memory for me. The horrible school lunches made school so much more fun. We loved the cookies we could buy in 4th grade. The privilege of changing classes in 6th grade was the best gift ever!

Now, that I am searching for internships for my future career, I ponder over these memories often. They were amazing childhood memories that have shaped the person I am today.

Oh, how I miss you.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
