It's only been two weeks. Two weeks since classes started. Two weeks since you left home.
Two weeks since all the stress came back.
Wait for things to slow down
For most college students, the beginning of the school year is the most stressful part of the year. Trying to get back into the flow of things and just getting used to being on your own again. The late nights, early mornings, sleep deprivation, and anxiety all slowly sneak up on you. This is something that is hard to avoid but it's manageable if you have good time management skills. Try creating a set schedule to help you stay on task.
As hard as it is... relax
The more stress and pressure you keep putting on yourself the worse the anxiety is going to be. Leave yourself time to focus on yourself because if you're not keeping it together, everything else will fall apart. You are the most important thing in your life and taking care of yourself will always be the priority. Living with anxiety, it is sometimes hard to remember this — but it is important.
Talk to someone
I always used to think that I needed to deal with my anxiety on my own. That no one wanted to help me figure everything out. People care about you and they want to see you succeed and live your life to the fullest. If you always live in the mindset that you are on your own and that this is your problem, nothing is ever going to get better. You have to be able to accept help and know you are not alone.
Anxiety sucks but it's manageable
Go talk to someone. Take medication. Write in a journal. Find a new hobby. Do something. We all have different ways to cope with the struggles in our lives and we need to find the way that works for us. As much as I didn't want to, I have to take medication to keep my anxiety minimal. I also found that listening to music when I get very anxious can actually stop me from having an anxiety attack. You need to find what works for you because it may help you a lot in the long run.
Focus on you
Coming back to college you get wrapped up in other peoples' lives and you start to lose focus on yours. If you're anything like me you start forgetting to do things in your own life. This causes a lot of anxiety for me and it's an easy thing to fix. I have to spend at least an hour a day on me. Whether it's listening to music, working on a new project or anything that is going to help me relax and work on bettering myself. It's important to not forget about yourself when you're constantly surrounded by your friends.
You are just as important as them.
