To The Best College Roommates, Thank You

You're my support system and best friends all in one.

I never thought I would have great roommates in college. I'm only being honest. The past two years were rough. Two of my roommates were my old best friends. One of them was an annoying stranger who screwed up a lot. I have only kept in touch with one former roommate because she indeed was the definition of great.

Then, you guys jumped in and broke that streak of bad luck. You jumped on the bandwagon of great roommates.

I'm glad we got close so quick. I was surprised I could find trust in you because people these days don't even know what trust is.

We all work in the office of student activities here at school, so it's even better. We get closer every single day, and I count you all as my best friends.

Colin, you are my boyfriend, but you are also my best friend I can count on. You're always there for me, regardless of what I'm going through. You support me in my decisions. Living with you has been different, but it has also been a wonderful adventure. I can't wait to see where we go from here. You can be annoying at times, but I love you more each day. You have been a great roommate, and I'm happy this happened. I'll miss you when you graduate in May.

Katie, you are such a good companion. I know you already wrote something about us, but how can I resist expressing my feelings about you all in my writing? You are awesome. I think you're very honest with everything and I can tell that you're caring. You do your job well, and you are very smart. Although I haven't chosen an alliance yet, I still love to switch sides and shoot Nerf guns with you. Thanks for being there for me. I'll miss you when you leave.

Carrie, you crack me up every single day. You make me laugh to no end and I'm happy we're as close as we are now. Half of our roommates are leaving us this year so, hopefully, we can live together next year. I love our talks. Thank you for accepting me. Again, I have not chosen an alliance, but I still love to surprise you and shoot Nerf guns at you. I'm glad we have that type of relationship. Thanks for being my friend.

I think one of the best decisions I have ever made was to live with you guys. It has made my school year so much better. When you have lived with mostly unpleasant people in the past, your life gets 10 times brighter when your roommates are your friends, too.

Like all friends, we sometimes fall into some disputes. These disputes are nothing but a waste of time and just plain silly. We get over them in a matter of minutes because we can't even go a second without making each other laugh. It's just hard to stay mad at one another.

The one thing I do love about you all is that you are my support system. Whenever I'm stressed or upset, you guys are there. I try not to show it because I hate asking for attention, but I'm glad to know you care. Thank you so much.

I honestly don't want this year to end because we are such good friends. I'd miss everyone way too much. Hopefully, good things will come around for us in the future!

Thank you for putting up with me because I know I can act like a crazy psycho about certain things. I can be like that but I'm sensitive. Again, I appreciate you guys accepting me for who I am.

It's been a great year so far, and I hope our memories remain longlasting and fun! I love you all!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
