It's okay to not know what you want to do as a career when you are so young. There are a million different jobs out there and you deserve to pick the right one for you. So if that means it takes a little extra time to figure it out, then so be it.
When you are thinking about what you want to do, think about what you are passionate about. You should wake up every morning and be excited to go to work. That is how you will make the biggest impact and be happy with where you are. There may come a time where things start to feel routine and maybe you aren't as excited anymore, and that's okay. If you happen to be in a job right now that you dread and absolutely hate but you need the money, that is okay too. That job will be as temporary as you want it to be. You have the power to move on at any point and work towards something you are passionate about.
You also need to know yourself. Try to understand what kind of environment you need to be in, the kind of people you want to work with, and how much work you want to do. You will be able to figure out what job is best for you the more you know yourself. So I encourage you to do some self-reflection every day or every other day until you feel like you really know yourself.
There is no shame in not knowing what to be. You are on your own timeline and you will reach that decision at the right time. During this time have some fun and enjoy life. Experience will help you figure out what you like and don't like. But when it finally comes to you, don't be afraid. Don't fill your head with fears or doubts. You are your own worst enemy; do not limit yourself. You can do anything you set your mind to. It may be hard, but it will be worth it in the end.
From,
A person who may have just figured it out.
