"My life is a mess." We all make that joke sometimes or see the memes online. But what does that even mean? I mean, think about it. Seriously. What does it mean to have it together? Getting good grades? Having great friends? Landing that awesome internship - and really killing it? There is no definition for having your life together.
We all know that one person who always seems to be on top of things. They are always on top of deadlines, is active in the social scene, and still manages to at least look like they get some sleep.
We also know that one person that makes us feel slightly better about our "messy" life. They constantly look unprepared and just generally going with the flow.
So, how are we determining just how put together someone is?
We are influenced by appearances and things like #goals, but none of these things really equate to being put together. Everyone goes through their ups and downs, but that doesn't mean your life is any more or less of a mess than the person sitting next to you. Each of us has our own perception of having it together, based on our experiences and opinions. So by that logic both no one and everyone are put together at the same time.

So let's not compare ourselves to others based on arbitrary values. Instead, let's appreciate what we have accomplished and what we have yet to as well. We all have our ups and downs in life. You can feel happy for someone, but always remember that your accomplishments are just as great.
