You've taught me so much within these past seventeen years.
Time goes by so quickly. You've just returned from your junior prom and "after-prom" weekend in Seaside.
It didn't actually hit me that you're growing up until I watched you on your prom day. In your all-blue, Cinderella-like dress, you literally looked like a princess.
You have grown into someone I truly look up to (or down-to, considering you're only 5"), and I couldn't be prouder to say so.
You've taught me that the miles between us for the last nine months or so had nothing on us. We're still inseparable and nothing has changed between us.
You've taught me to take things calmly and to just go with the flow instead of constantly being such a worrywart.
Unfortunately, everything around us is changing. In about 12 months, you'll be shaking your principal's hand and taking your high school diploma.
Within this next year or so, do everything you can to make it count. Follow the path you've paved for me. College is a great place: you discover yourself, try new things, and meet new people. But don't forget where you came from.
Mom and Papa do everything in their power to make us happy. There has never been a time where we asked for something and their response was "no." Remember this. We owe them in the years to come.
Don't ever forget that I'll always be here for you. No matter how important or stupid the situation may seem, I want to help. In fact, it's my job to. That's what big sisters are for.
But most importantly, of all the things you've taught me, I learned that you're the only person who will be by my side until the very end.
You're the smartest person I know and it's a fact you'll be successful in everything you pursue.
I'm so lucky and proud to be called yours, sister.
