Dear home best friend's future college best friends,

One of the hardest parts of being at college is being away from my best friends. Going from seeing their faces every single day to only seeing them on breaks pains me. However, I know they are in good hands now with you guys. Just know that when the holidays come around, I'm going to need to take them away for awhile, sorry.

Without my best friends, I would be incomplete - I'd be hollow inside with a half empty heart. If you think I am being dramatic, just wait until you are my best friends' new best friend. You'll see. I promise you they won't disappoint you, and I promise you they will always be that shoulder to laugh, cry, and snuggle up to when watching a scary movie that they forced you to put on.

They will be the friend's to tell you "I told you so" because let's face it they were always right and you were just too naive to admit it. BUT, they will also be the friends to laugh off the dumb decisions that you regret to make you feel better and a little bit less stupid.

They will be your biggest fans and make you feel like a rock star in those leather pants or that bold red top. However, they will also be your biggest critics and make sure you don't wear those white pants after Labor Day because we all know that is a hard no in the fashion world.

They will be the girls you end your nights with stuffing your face with food, laying in a mosh pit of tangled legs on a fuzzy carpet talking until the sun comes up about the guy that didn't pay enough attention to you that night. They are your eyes and ears when you need it the most.

Ever wanted a personal therapist that deals with your messed up world 24/7? These best friends will listen to you rave about a boy, talk about how your Starbucks order was wrong and ruined your day or listen to the deepest, hardest things to talk about that only your best friend could help you with.

These girls will be your bridesmaids at your wedding, your best friends that you escape the kids for the weekend with, and the people that will be your roommates in a retirement home.

Consider yourself lucky, now that you're at college and you get to have my best friends 24/7. Don't take it for granted. These girls will change your life just like they changed mine.

I'll admit at times I am bad at staying in touch - so girls, I am sorry for that. If I don't say it enough, I would be in crumbles without my home best friends and would probably be crying over that boy from the 7th grade or the sauce I spilled on my white dress at homecoming freshman year.

So finally, to my best friend's new best friends: take care of my girls - they are truly the best people on this earth.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
