To My High School Teachers Who Inspired Me

High school can be a stressful four years. It is the very beginning of every students transition into their future, and the first building block for the following chapter of their lives. That being said, it is key that students have quality, passionate teachers to inspire them and lead them to be the best students and versions of themselves they can be.

From my personal experience, a high percentage of my prior teachers did not seem to truly care about each individual student, but more so about covering bases and checking off boxes for the county and state requirements. This led to my personal disinterest, along with the disinterest of all of my peers, which increased the difficulty of the class solely because we did not see the passion behind the material we were being taught.

However, I was lucky enough to have not only one, but three teachers that inspired me to be a better student and person as a whole. Through their dedication and care to each individual student, even the "boring" subjects became interesting and tedious work became an exciting challenge to conquer. With that said, here is my thank you for my handful of teachers that I will forever be grateful for.

To my high school teachers who inspired me,

First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to go above and beyond to make my time in your class both informative and enjoyable. While economics did not come naturally to me and US history and English were not by any means easy, I looked forward to those classes because I could see the passion for each subject. You did not simply skim over material just to check off a box in preparation for another standardized test, you taught the significance of each topic and brought a unique perspective to class every day.

Each and every day I learned something new, not just to memorize but also to relate to real life. The knowledge I gained throughout your classes have already and will continue to help me throughout college and life. Whenever I had an issue, whether it be with the given assignment or beyond that, you helped me until the problem was resolved. Your understanding and care made high school (dare I say) fun. In your class, I was not just another student on the seating chart, but my opinions and concerns were heard and valued. I was challenged, and my knowledge enhanced.

Whether you all knew it or not, each of you helped shape me into a better student, and a better person. You went beyond what other teachers of mine had done, and made a huge impact on not only my life, but the lives of other students as well. Your position always seems to be underappreciated, so I am here to tell you that your work is greatly recognized and I cannot begin to thank you enough.

Sincerely,

Your student who is always grateful

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
