To My Former Childhood Friends

We may not speak as much anymore, but you still were a part of my life

To My Former Childhood Friends

Hey There!

Remember me? Maybe you do and maybe you don’t, it’s a mystery to me. Well, if you don’t, let me refresh your memory. When we were kids our parents always set playdates for us and invited us to each other’s birthday parties. We were really close in elementary school whether we knew it or not, since we were kids and all. I, was your childhood friend.

For many years we were in the same classroom and had the same teachers. Majority of our time was together, especially during recess where talking and running around was all we were doing. We didn’t know how we connected or why we did, but that was because we were kids. All we did was smile at each other, laugh with each other, accepted it and let our friendship grow.

Once we got closer, everything got in the way. Different activities, moving to a different town, even everything in between was a bullet we couldn’t dodge. We didn’t know how to get in touch with each other anymore and neither did our parents. Defeat was accepted and the friendship was lost, it was quite a sad moment since we couldn’t know how to befriend anyone else at such a young age.

Years went by, we kept getting older and we eventually made friends to try to fill your place. Crossing upon memories that you find in boxes that were never unpacked, or even touched, showed some pictures of us from elementary school. Every memory I came across I started to remember more vividly about our friendship. Looking each other up on social media helped us reconnected a little bit, but not one hundred percent.

The moments elementary school and your name are mentioned I sometime wonder how your life is going. It definitely won’t be like my life because no two lives run the same course. I sometimes wish I was a child again so I could keep our memories alive forever. I hope you read this letter, remember me and hope you are doing well in your path of life right now.

Sincerely,

Your Former Childhood Friend

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
