You can choose your friends, but you can't choose family. Thankfully. I don't know what I'd do without mine. We are the craziest, wildest, most loving family you will ever meet. We have family members all across the globe, from Vietnam to Canada to the United States. They are the most selfless people I've ever met. So to my crazy family, thank you!

Thank you for your constant support. From my 3-year-old dreams of being a princess to my current ones, you have never failed to support me. With all the big decisions I've made in the past few years, like where to go for school or where to work, I've been confident that you would have my back with whatever I decided to do. No matter how crazy my dreams may be, you are always there to provide advice and words of encouragement. You push me to be a better daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and granddaughter.

Thank you for the laughter. I am almost never not laughing when I'm surrounded by family. From tickle fights to playful teasing, you always give me a reason to laugh and smile. I am happiest when I'm with you! Some of my best memories are of our vacations, when we have the chance to joke around and be silly with each other. I feel like I can channel my inner 6-year-old when I'm around you.

Thank you for your forgiveness. No matter how many times I've messed up and made mistakes, you've always forgiven me and given me another chance. Not many people would do that.

Thank you for your patience. Nineteen years is a long time to love someone, yet you have done that for me. I've done some things I shouldn't have and it's taken me a long time to get to where I am not, but you've stayed by my side throughout this entire journey. It's not over yet though, so prepare for the ride of your lives.

Thank you for your acceptance. I feel like I can be anyone around you! You all love me for who I am and I could not be more thankful for that. No matter what flaws I have, you never treat me differently. I know that if I were to grow two extra sets of eyes or three extra hands, you would still accept me and love me.

Thank you for all the memories. Family parties, vacations, and get-togethers will be memories that I have etched in my mind for all of eternity. After all, it's hard to forget a wild family like ours!

Finally, thank you for your love. Your love has pushed me to do better and be better. It has encouraged me and strengthened me in rough times. You all mean the world to me and I could not imagine life without you. Thank you, and I love you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
